Winter is Coming – Is Your Lawn Equipment Fuel Ready?

Seasonal Fuel Storage 101

Winter Lawnmower

Fuel in outdoor power equipment and other seasonal equipment that is about to go into storage needs to be stabilized, but it’s not just about winter. In order to ensure peak performance in the spring, you need to do more than just stabilize the fuel. In addition to preventing gum and debris formation, fuel must also be protected against octane loss. Ethanol-blended gasoline is designed to be used within 30-45 days; Star Tron Enzyme Fuel Treatment stabilizes gasoline for up to 2 years, making it ideal for use in engines in seasonal storage. Star Tron does more than “just stabilize” by enhancing fuel combustibility, breaking apart and dispersing gums and other debris and treating moisture in fuel without the use of alcohol or other emulsifiers. By preparing fuel for winter storage with Star Tron, you are also making sure engines are ready to run strong in the spring.

Traditional stabilizers can be overloaded with anticorrosion and antioxidant additive packs (“add packs”). These same add packs are already present in pump-grade gas. Overdosing them can decrease fuel combustibility which leads to engines running rough and smoky when they come out of winter storage. Star Tron’s enzymes work in conjunction with pump-grade gas add packs to strike a balance between winter protection and spring performance. Come spring, your fuel will be fresh, your engine will start easily, deliver maximum power and experience improved fuel economy while producing less harmful emissions. Star Tron’s unique enzyme formula maintains fuel quality year-round.
