Built on Florida's Coast

Built on Florida's Coast

Growing up along the Space Coast, C.J. was shaped by the ocean and lagoon systems that surround it. Days were spent in the surf, on the water, and learning the rhythms of a place that demands respect. That foundation built more than skill—it built a lifelong connection to the water and the lifestyle that comes with it.

World Champion Pedigree

C.J. reached the pinnacle of competitive surfing by winning the 2001 World Surf League Championship. Known for his consistency, toughness, and ability to perform under pressure, he built a career competing against the best in the world. But even at that level, he never lost sight of why he started—being in the water.

Home Water Matters

From the Indian River Lagoon to Sebastian Inlet, this is home water for C.J.—and it’s something he believes should be used and protected. He represents the kind of waterman who understands that enjoying these resources comes with responsibility, and that taking care of them ensures they’re here for the next generation.

C.J. Hobgood represents what it means to live the lifestyle, not just talk about it. World champion or not, it always comes back to the water—and doing things the right way every time you’re out there.
